Sitting in the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport

Yummy warm hot latte from Starbucks. Early morning. My guitar and I are sitting together, waiting for my flight to Newark. I am coming from Amarillo, TX where I played the Hastings Convention. Heading back to NJ where I am going straight to the studio.

Recommendations from Amarillo -

Definitely stay at this lovely place called the Adaberry Inn. www.adaberryinn.com

Go out for burgers and beer!

Drive through Dairy Queen and order a blizzard.

Ne-Yo and Jon McLaughlin!!! My label-mates. I got the chance to see them perform the other night at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. They were both amazing. Jon’s album OK NOW  is coming out October 7th and Ne-Yo’s THE YEAR OF THE GENTLEMAN is already out. This pic was taken backstage after the show. (I wound up singing in Ne-Yo’s ear!)

Twisted Tree Cafe

Tonight I played a solo show at the Twisted Tree Cafe in Asbury Park, NJ. It was one of those gray, misty nights where it rained for most of the day and the weather finally settled down, making it a pleasant drive down the shore to Asbury. I was returning to the Twisted Tree Cafe after having done a six week residency a few months ago. It was a great spot for me to begin getting my live show together. It’s cozy and there is very little distance between the stage and audience, making it easy to see the expressions on every person’s face as you’re playing. It is a listening room, a place for drinking cappuccinos and soaking in original songs.

SJSU!!! I played 3 songs on the college radio station. Thanks to everyone who made the visit really great. Afterwards we went with Andrea, our fabulous DJ, to a local Mexican restaurant before Ryan and I headed back to the Phoenix in San Francisco where we packed up, turned on the TV (the Republican convention was on) and wound up eating one last late-night dinner in San Francisco before flying back to the east coast. FYI I highly recommend The Globe in San Francisco - www.globerestaurant.com. Thanks to Bruno from iTunes for telling us about this hotspot in the first place. It’s ALWAYS good to know the great places that are open late!
